Alaskan Van Life
Little secret, I have been wanting to do van life for about 2 years now. I truly believe this life is for me. Living minimally, traveling, working remotely, having your house be wherever you are. I would love this life, but currently with my husband’s career, it just does not align with van life. We have been talking about renovating an RV or camper van to travel in. So fingers cross I will see this in my future.
This is Paige and Jason. They converted this vintage camper van, into an eclectic bohemian vintage dream! When I saw it I am sure I squealed. This camper van has a dining area, kitchen, couch, shower, and toilet. This is minimalism and functionality designed at its best! Paige and Jason have 2 adorable dogs that also spend time with them in their van. So when we got to start shooting, it was one big party in the van.
We took these photos at a private lake (which we had access to). It was just us there. When we got outside and started doing photos with the exterior of the van, the worse happened! Paige and Jason pointed behind me and said, “bear!” And I’m like, “hell no!” We all looked and it’s a black bear emerging from the dense woods. He kept his distance and went through all the trash. Thank goodness we had the van to jump in. I was definitely more comfortable in this situation because we had a structure to hide in, while the bear was searching for food.
This was a very unexpected event, since we were all enjoying our time. It did not ruin our time, but gave us something to laugh about.
I am so glad I got to capture these photos of Paige and Jason before they leave Alaska and do a west coast trip to Las Vegas. I cannot wait to see their journey along with their adorable dogs.
I am obsessed with the outcome of this photo shoot. I hope you enjoy it too!
