Kenai Fjords National Park Fall Elopement

The ultimate elopement planned in the beautiful Kenai Fjords National Park in Seward, Alaska. Alexis and David knew they always wanted to elope. After many years together they wanted something very intimate. David and Alexis had an already planned a week long fishing trip with their good friends to Alaska. After more conversations they knew it was meant to be for them to elope in Alaska.

Once Alexis reached out to me about photography, I was ecstatic! Our first conversation was on a phone call that lasted over an hour. We bounced ideas on what their elopement could look like. By the end of the conversation I knew they wanted something small, laid-back and simple. I wanted to ensure that their wedding day was very little stress. I gave Alexis all my recommendations, and even helped her out with picking up her bouquet and cake and trekking down the Seward highway with the items in my car.

The first time I met Alexis and David was on their wedding day. I felt like I knew them like they were my long-time friends. Their kind-hearts and loving spirit made this day beautiful and serene. They had their good friend officiate their ceremony with vast mountains in the backdrop.

The evening ended at Resurrection Roadhouse. We sat outside on their pavillion looking out to the Kenai Fjords mountains. We drank some cold beers and I learned about all the different types of fish, fishing styles, and what their remaining plans were in their time here in Alaska.

After elopement days like this one, I always feel sad leaving my couples. Spending hours with them, hearing their story, witnessing their vows, and celebrating their love - it’s always hard to leave that high. I’m always grateful for sweet couples who allow me to join them on their special day. To witness and capture such an intimate love story is why I love doing this.
