Surprise Proposal in Sedona, Arizona with Scenic View of Cathedral Rock
I met Jayd and Hannah at the BEGINNING of 2022 in Phoenix, Arizona. They modeled for me as I was visiting the beautiful desert I used to call home. We clicked immediately. I learned of their story of how they connected. Their first date was over 24 hours! Ever since their first date they haven’t left each other’s side.
A year later Jayd reached out to me via Instagram saying she’s planning on proposing to Hannah. She wants me to be their photographer and wanted to know my schedule so we could all book a trip to Sedona for the proposal. Sedona is Jayd and Hannah’s favorite place. Sedona is one of my favorite places too. The second you arrive you’ve entered the spiritual vortex. You feel it immediately - a sense of calmness. The giant red rocks are also so breathtaking, which helps with the energy of the place.
Once Jayd and I figured out a time and date for her proposal, I went on a hunt for locations. I gave Jayd about 4 locations to choose from, and we came to settle down on this scenic point where there is little foot traffic in Sedona. Finding an area with few to little foot traffic is rare in the beautiful Sedona, Arizona. I’ve done a photoshoot in this spot before (4 years ago), and couldn’t believe it was still the same as it was back in the day. It is so important to not geotag locations, as many humans have ruined natural beauties of ancient lands.
Jayd told Hannah that I was back in town and wanted them to model for me again. We set up a “prompt” for Hannah to turn around and Jayd to surprise her. It was sure a surprise when Hannah turned around to see Jayd kneeling on one knee with a ring. She said “yes”, the champagne was brought out and it was a magical evening in this magical place.
I am so honored to be apart of many milestones in their life together. I love that Jayd chose somewhere special to pop the question and seeked me out-someone they trusted, to photograph this important day.
