Chilly Winter Elopement in the Woods of Anchorage, Alaska
Winter in Alaska is gorgeous. Grab your favorite people, and elope in the woods of Anchorage, Alaska.
Sarah and Cillian decided to do just so. With covid-19 ruining their plans of getting married in Ireland they headed to the mountains and woods of Alaska to tie the knot. Their day was set at the Kincaid Sand Dunes (which was covered in snow obviously), in the woods. Kincaid Sand Dunes has a gorgeous set of tall standing trees. It was a beautiful winter wonderland scene, and the perfect place to elope on this chilly winter day.
Grab your favorite people and some Irish coffee and let’s tie the knot.
Sarah’s sister lead their sweet ceremony. Vows were exchanged, and they were married! After the ceremony we headed back to the car to warm up with a cup of Irish coffee. If you don’t know what Irish coffee is, let’s just say it’s more than just coffee! After we warmed up a little, Sarah, Cillian and I braved through the Kincaid Sand Dunes woods to get to the cliffs. We were out there for maybe 5 minutes and headed back. The winds were brutal and it was quite the adventure. That didn’t stop us from taking gorgeous photos of them. We found a nice spot in the woods and finished their photos.
This chilly winter elopement gave me so much joy and love for winter elopements. Although they may be chilly in the moment, you forget about the cold, because your heart is so warm from all the love ( I know super cheesy BUT SO TRUE.)
I cannot wait for more winter elopements in Alaska!
